The Number on Your Cashew Pack Actually Means Something
If you've ever bought premium cashews, you may have noticed a code like W240, W320, or W450 on the packaging. These aren't random numbers — they're part of a globally recognised cashew grading system that tells you exactly what quality you're getting.
At Poshira, we use W240 cashews. Here's why that matters.
How Cashew Grading Works
The "W" in W240 stands for White — meaning whole, unbroken cashew kernels with a natural ivory-white colour. The number refers to the count per pound: how many whole cashew kernels fit into one pound (approximately 450g).
- W240 — approximately 240 kernels per pound → large
- W320 — approximately 320 kernels per pound → medium
- W450 — approximately 450 kernels per pound → small
The lower the number, the larger and fewer the cashews per pound — and generally, the higher the grade and price.
Why W240 Is the Premium Choice
W240 cashews are among the largest whole cashew grades available commercially. They are plumper and meatier, visually superior, richer in flavour, and whole and unbroken — no splits, pieces, or fragments. For everyday snacking, W320 is common. But for a truly premium experience — or when you're gifting — W240 is the standard that sets Poshira apart.

Nutritional Value of Cashews
Cashews are one of the most nutrient-dense nuts available. A 30g serving provides approximately 160 kcal, 5g protein, 13g healthy fats (mostly monounsaturated), 9g carbohydrates, and good amounts of magnesium, zinc, iron, and copper. They're particularly valued for heart health, bone strength, and immune support.
How to Enjoy Poshira W240 Cashews
Our W240 cashews are delicious straight from the pack, but also work beautifully in curries, kheer, trail mixes, or as a standalone gifting option. Their size and consistency make them a favourite for corporate gifting and festive hampers.
